Larry Condra is a native of San Diego, Calif., and moved to El Paso, Texas, in 1998. He is a 25-year veteran hotelier, having worked with Hilton Worldwide and Marriott Hotels. Larry joined Solstice Senior Living at Rio Norte in 2017 and enjoys his role because he finds “it very rewarding to have the opportunity to serve the Greatest Generation and gain some of the knowledge they are leaving behind. Without them, the world might not be what it is today.”
An 11-year board member of the El Paso Hotel-Motel Association, he has done volunteer work for the Bethel Orphanage in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico.
Business Office Director
Rita Galaviz joined the Solstice Senior Living team in 2017 as the business office director. She comes to us with well over a decade of experience in business management, and spent seven years prior to coming to Solstice as the property manager at Housing Authority, City of El Paso, Texas. Her passion for management and assisting others in their daily lives has led her to discover her calling in business management. At Solstice Senior Living at Rio Norte, she prepares monthly events for residents and families at the community and works hard to create a vibrant environment for everyone. In her personal life, she enjoys attending softball games, dance recitals, family events and gatherings, and spending time with her five beautiful daughters and handsome grandson.
Building Services Director
Eugene Botelho joined the Rio Norte team a year ago and takes pride in making the lives of residents easier by beautifying their apartments and the community. Before joining the Rio Norte team, Eugene was a maintenance machinist for Raytheon for 20 years. A U.S. Navy veteran and a member of the American Legion, he has lived in El Paso for the majority of his life with his wife, Jan. He owns a cabin at Elephant Butte Lake and enjoys fishing and the outdoors.
Director of Sales and Marketing
Gabriel Lugo joined the Rio Norte team in 2017 and enjoys assisting residents in maintaining their independence within the community. Growing up in both Mexico and Texas, he is bilingual and has a great understanding of both American and Mexican cultures. Of his 16 years of customer service experience, Gabriel spent 11 years in hotel operations and sales, holding the titles of front office manager, sales manager, director of Sales, and sales and catering manager. Holding a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice administration, Gabriel enjoys tending to his aquariums and pets in his free time.
Culinary Services Director
Jasmine Garcia was born and raised in El Paso, Texas, and her passion for cooking started in her family-owned bakery. After high school, she pursued her passion for cooking and attended the Texas Culinary Academy of Le Cordon Bleu. After graduating from culinary school, Jasmine returned to El Paso to work for hotels and restaurants for nearly 10 years. She later came to Rio Norte to be an executive sous chef for three years and now serves as the culinary services director. The most exciting and loving part of Jasmine’s job is the environment and atmosphere here at Solstice at Rio Norte.
Vibrant Life Director
Alyssa Melendez is an energetic young woman who is enthusiastic about life. Alyssa has worked in customer service for nine years. She has worked in retail and sales in major department stores, but felt that wasn’t making an impact helping people the way she desired. Therefore she became a family service counselor for a local funeral home.
When tragedy hit home, such as losing her grandmother of 66 years due to renal failure, Alyssa felt the need to seek a position to honor her grandmother and assist people she came in contact with to live the most vibrant life as possible. In her personal life, Alyssa is a mother to a lively little girl. Moreover, Alyssa thrives in serving her community by proving food for homeless and economically disadvantaged families. She also likes to read to pass the time.
